FAQs
Calm, Inclusive, Neuro‑divergent Friendly Wedding Planning

What is a wedding showcase (and how is it different to a wedding fair)?
Think chilled wedding inspiration, not a busy sales hall. A wedding showcase is more curated and more relaxed; fewer suppliers, more intention. The venue will be styled like a real wedding day, not a row of stalls, so you can actually feel what your wedding could be like rather than just imagine it. It’s about real conversations, meaningful ideas, and meeting people who actually get the kind of wedding you want.

Who is Dorset Wedding Sessions for?
Couples who want their wedding to feel like them. If you’re planning something relaxed, non-traditional, smaller, more eco-conscious, or you’ve ever felt exhausted at the idea of a typical wedding fair, you’ll fit right in.

Are you LGBTQ+ inclusive?

Yes. Dorset Wedding Sessions is a space that celebrates all love, all identities, and all ways of getting married. You’ll see LGBTQ+ suppliers, inclusive language, and zero need to explain yourself. You’re welcome here, full stop.

I’m neurodivergent, is this right for me?
Yes, we really hope you'll feel comfortable here. This showcase is designed to be calm, low-pressure and not overwhelming. No loud sales pitches, no being cornered, no awkward small talk if you’re not in the mood. You can take things at your own pace, dip in and out, sit quietly, ask questions one-to-one, or just observe. You’re welcome exactly as you are. We also have a quiet hour from 2-3pm you can book separately.

Do I need to be getting married in Dorset?
Not at all. While the showcase focuses on amazing Dorset and South West wedding suppliers, lots of them travel. You’re welcome wherever you’re getting married. Plenty of suppliers travel, and inspiration travels even further.

Will I be pressured to book suppliers on the day?
Nope. No pushy vibes here. There’s no pressure to book, sign up, or commit to anything. Come along, have a chat, collect ideas, get a contact for the suppliers you like. It’s all about giving you space to figure out what feels right.

Can I turn up on the door?
If there are spare tickets, yes! There's no guarantee of this however, and you will have to pay full price to enter the Blue Pool (£7.50 per adult). We've purposely limited the tickets to reduce overwhelm. The best way to ensure you can attend, and to get the best price, is to buy your tickets in advance. It's super easy, just scroll up to find the tickets.
